About The Founder

Edward Brown MBE has lived and worked in the Arabian Gulf for over 20 years, bringing a deep understanding of the region’s cultures and leadership contexts. He served in the British Army for 37 years, including operational deployments to Iraq and Kuwait. In the final stage of his military career, Edward was seconded to the Kuwait Armed Forces as Brigadier and Commander of the British Military Mission, a senior leadership role he held for three years.

Following his military service, Edward transitioned to the private sector, joining a Kuwaiti family business that held the Mercedes-Benz franchise, where he led operations for three years. He then moved into the emergency services sector as CEO of a private fire and rescue company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a role he held for seven years while living between KSA and Bahrain.

In 2015, Edward founded Rice Solutions Co., delivering cultural awareness training to senior executives and Defence Attachés across the Gulf. This work continues today. He is also the author of Rice Solutions: A Guide to Leadership and Management in the Arabian Gulf, published by Ideas for Leaders in 2024.

Edward combines strategic leadership experience with a deep cultural sensitivity, offering valuable insight to clients operating in complex cross-cultural environments.
